Quinnen Williams receives national honor for his performance against Missouri

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama continued preparations for its upcoming matchup with Tennessee with a two hour practice at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Crimson Tide will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., this weekend to face SEC East rival Tennessee on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Neyland Stadium. The game will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl on the call.

 

Williams Recognized for Missouri Performance

Defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was recognized Tuesday as the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week by the Maxwell Football Club after recording seven tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a pair of quarterback pressures in the Tide’s 39-10 win over Missouri last weekend.

 

Mid-Season Honors

Alabama’s offensive line was named to the Joe Moore Award mid-season honor roll Tuesday. The Tide front line has cleared the way for an offense that leads the nation in total offense (567.5), scoring offense (53.6) and passing efficiency (233.37) through seven games this season.

 

Six Crimson Tide players were named to the Associated Press mid-season All-America team Tuesday. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, offensive linemen Ross Pierschbacher and Jonah Williams and defensive back Deionte Thompson were named to the AP first team while defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was a second-team choice.
