Kickoff between the Tide and Bulldogs is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN this Saturday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team went through a final practice on Thursday afternoon, working a 90-minute session in shells at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility in preparation for this Saturday’s matchup with the No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Crimson Tide worked its final full practice before using Friday to travel to Starkville. Alabama and Mississippi State are set for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff on Saturday evening at Davis Wade Stadium. The matchup between the SEC West rivals will air on ESPN with Dave Pasch, Greg McElroy and Tom Luginbill covering the action.
Alabama and Mississippi State will meet for the 102nd time in a series that dates back to 1896. The Tide holds the all-time advantage, 81-17-3 (79-18-3 after vacations/forfeits) in the series, and has won nine consecutive meetings in the matchup. The Crimson Tide defeated the Bulldogs, 31-6, in Alabama’s last visit to Davis Wade Stadium in 2015 and won the most recent meeting, 51-3, in Tuscaloosa in 2016. UA holds an all-time advantage of 17-4 (16-4 after vacations) in games played in Starkville.
Earlier today, junior defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick was selected as one of nine semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced. The award goes to a college football defensive player who has had the biggest IMPACT on his team both on and off the field. IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. The winner of the 2017 Lott IMPACT Trophy will be announced at The Lott IMPACT Trophy Award Banquet, held at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach on Dec. 10.
