Former Alabama players shine in Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season

 

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The National Football League concluded Week 7 of regular season play on Monday night. Below is a look at former Alabama Football players that shined on the gridiron.

 

Tailback Josh Jacobs had a dominant performance in the Raiders’ 38-20 win over the Texans, leading the team’s offensive effort with 143 yards on 20 carries. The star running back also scored three of Las Vegas’ four touchdowns, including a crucial fourth quarter touchdown to give the Raiders the lead. Jacobs leads the team in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns and sits at third in rushing yards NFL-wide with 633. Sitting at fourth in the same category is none other than veteran running back Derrick Henry. The Titans’ stud produced 128 yards on 30 carries and caught three passes for ten yards. Henry’s performance helped Tennessee to a 19-10 victory over Indianapolis. He also holds roughly 40 percent of the Titans’ total offensive yards through seven contests while leading the team in rushing yards and touchdowns.

 

Miami Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned to action in a 16-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 261 yards and a touchdown. Tagovailoa currently sits at sixth in completion percentage with 67.3% among quarterbacks with at least 125 passing attempts. Tagovailoa’s former college teammate, Jerry Jeudy, reeled in seven catches for 96 yards for the Denver Broncos.

 

Atlanta Falcons’ linebacker Rashaan Evans had a career-best performance this past Sunday. Evans posted a career-best 13 tackles to lead the Falcons in the category while also anchoring down the defensive unit that held Cincinnati to 78 rushing yards. The seasoned linebacker leads the Falcons in total tackles, ranking 10th overall in the league.

 

Excelling on the defensive side of the ball, Trevon Diggs posted an interception, two pass defenses and a tackle in the Cowboy’s win over the Detroit Lions. The star defender has three interceptions on the season and is tied for second among all NFL defenders. New York Jets’ star Quinnen Williams shined yet again in a 16-9 victory over the Denver Broncos. Williams had four tackles, one pass defensed and two quarterback hits. He leads the team in sacks and serves as the anchor to the Jets’ defensive line. Fellow defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick had a solid outing for the Steelers, tallying six tackles and one pass defensed against the Dolphins.
