Offensive coordinator Michael Locksley named a semifinalist for the Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year Award
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama Crimson Tide continued preparations for Saturday’s Iron Bowl matchup with the Auburn Tigers, working in full pads for two hours at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields on Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Tigers will be the 83rd edition of the Iron Bowl. The contest will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. CBS will broadcast the rivalry with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl on the call.
Also on Tuesday, Alabama offensive coordinator Michael Locksley was announced as one of 15 semifinalists for the Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year Award. The Tide offense is averaging 541.5 yards per game and 48.7 points per game this season, both of which are on pace to shatter the previous school records. Former Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart was the first Tide assistant to receive the honor in 2009. The winner of the 2018 Broyles Award will be announced on Dec. 4 in Little Rock, Ark.
