The redshirt freshman corner is one of 14 players on the award’s semifinalist list

 

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s Terrion Arnold was selected as a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Thursday afternoon.

 

Arnold helps to make up a list of 14 semifinalists for the award. Will Anderson Jr. is the lone Crimson Tide player to earn the accolade and is one of four total winners overall in the award’s short history. The Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award has been presented annually since 2018 to the most outstanding freshman in college football.

 

A finalist list will be announced by the MFC on Dec. 6 with the award’s 2022 winner being named on Dec. 29.

  • Excelled during the fall to earn a significant role in the Tide’s cornerback rotation
  • Played in all eight games with six starts, recording 32 tackles, including one for loss (-1 yard)
  • Added four pass breakups and an interception which he returned for a 21-yard gain
  • Redshirted during his first season at the Capstone
