Anderson Jr. was selected as the defensive player of the week while Robinson Jr. picked up honors on the offensive side

 

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama football earned two SEC Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday. Linebacker Will Anderson Jr. was selected as the league’s defensive player of the week while running back Brian Robinson Jr. earned offensive player of the week recognition. The pair of honors are UA’s fifth and sixth this season.

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Will Anderson Jr.

  • Spent the night in the Ole Miss backfield
  • Recorded a career-best nine total tackles, including 2.5 for loss (-9 yards) and one sack (-6 yards)
  • Added two quarterback hurries to his stat line

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Brian Robinson Jr.

  • Set the tone in the 42-21 victory over then-No. 12/12 Ole Miss
  • Ran for a career-high 171 yards and four touchdowns
  • Averaged 4.8 yards per carry and converted eight first downs across his career-high 36 rushes
  • Named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday
  • Also selected as the Reese’s Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week earlier Monday
