MFBRobert Foster catches six passes for 102 yards while Jarran Reed made five tackles with a sack

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama football team held its second scrimmage of the spring Saturday afternoon inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The scrimmage lasted roughly 130 plays and was just over two hours under sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-70s. The Crimson Tide will practice again on Tuesday and Thursday of the coming week.

“When you play against yourself, when one side does good, the other side has to do not so good,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “You don’t really know exactly whether you’re really that good on that side or that bad on the other. I think what we need to do here is continue to try and create our identity as a team.”

Sophomore receiver Robert Foster led the Crimson Tide offensive attack with six catches for 102 yards while Parker Barrineau added four grabs for 81 yards. Raheem Falkins caught 2 passes for 46 yards and O.J. Howard led the way with two touchdowns (4 receptions, 45 yards).

On the ground, Ronnie Clark and Lawrence Erekosima both gained 29 yards while Derrick Henry had 24 yards rushing on six carries.

“We probably turned the ball over too much offensively today, but I thought the defense did a great job of ball-hawking, tipping balls, attacking the ball and doing a great job of creating turnovers, which is something that we have really, really emphasized and is one of our goals to improve on for next season,” Saban said.

Senior defensive lineman Jarran Reed led the way defensively with five tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and a pass breakup. Junior Dalvin Tomlinson had five stops while freshman Ronnie Harrison added four tackles. Dillon Lee and Reuben Foster both added three tackles and one interception.

Alabama’s 2015 Golden Flake A-Day Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m. (CDT) inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The A-Day Game is once again free to the public and will be broadcast on SEC Network + with Joe Tessitore calling the action, Greg McElroy as the analyst and Shannon Spake reporting from the sidelines.
