TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team worked in shells for an hour and 30 minutes on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields Monday afternoon.
Alabama resumed practice following the home season finale last Saturday, which resulted in a 56-6 win over Charleston Southern on the Tide’s Senior Day. Next up for Alabama is the annual Iron Bowl game with Auburn this Saturday, Nov. 28, in Auburn. The Crimson Tide and Tigers are scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on CBS with Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Allie LaForce on the call.
The Tigers enter Saturday’s game with a 6-5 overall record and a 2-5 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Auburn most recently defeated Idaho, 56-34, last weekend to close out its non-conference slate. Gus Malzahn leads Auburn, now in his fourth season on the Plains and owns a 31-17 mark overall with a 15-15 record in SEC play.
This weekend will be the 80th meeting in the series with Alabama holding a 43-35-1 advantage dating back to 1893. In the most recent matchup, the Crimson Tide won a 55-44 shootout, erasing a 12-point second-half deficit to secure its spot in the SEC Championship game.
