TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide worked for two hours in full pads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields on Tuesday, working on its game plan for Saturday’s home meeting with the 18th-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will meet for the 103rd time on Saturday, Nov. 10 in the first of three games at Bryant-Denny Stadium to close out the regular season. The contest will air at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl on the call.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been honored as the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week, the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Chick-fil-A announced Tuesday. The selection comes following the Crimson Tide’s 29-0 win at LSU last weekend that was Saban’s 22nd win against an Associated Press top-five team, the most in college football history. The Tigers entered the matchup fourth in the AP poll and third in the College Football Playoff rankings.
Also on Tuesday, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams picked up his third national weekly honor for his performance at LSU as he was named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America. Williams had a career night against the Tigers, recording career highs in tackles (10), and sacks (2.5) and equaling his career best in tackles for loss with 3.5.
